Star Cactus Blossom

Today, my Star Cactus (five ribs, shape of a star) Astrophytum Asterias is blossoming!! I’m very excited when every time I get to see my Star Cactus flowers. The colour of the flowers is white to yellowish. When you look at it, you will see a star, and suddenly on top of the star, there is a flower. Pretty isn’t it? Star Cactus flower is only blooming in the daytime. I have planted this cactus for seven years now, and it is still my favourite. I like stars very much, perhaps that the reason why I have never get bored of my dear Star Cactus.

A little information about the Star Cactus that I think not many people know of and neither I can confirm either it is real news or not. On October 18th 1993, Star Cactus was announced as an Endangered plant. It was listed at the https://www.encyclopedia.com/environment/science-magazines/star-cactus. The reference came from U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. 18 October 1993 “Endangered and Threatened Wildlife and Plants; Determination of Endangered Status for the Plant Astrophytum Asterias (Star Cactus).” Federal Register 58(199): 53804-53807.
